Information for the next Discovering Musical Theatre program will be provided in Fall 2021.

EDMT is proud to continue its innovative program designed specifically for young people who have never participated in a musical theater production.

50 young people living in the greater Sacramento Area will have their lives opened to the world of the performing arts for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

It’s called Discovering Musical Theatre:

Saturday, Date: TBD
Participants will attend EDMT’s 2:00pm performance of the Broadway musical, TBD, at the Harris Center in Folsom, along with a parent or guardian. Afterward, they will get a backstage tour where they will see what happens “behind the scenes.”

Sunday, Date: TBD
Participants will attend a workshop at EDMT’s rehearsal facility in El Dorado Hills from 10:00am-Noon. In the two-hour workshop, participants will learn about singing, acting, and dancing from some of the actors they saw on stage. In addition to learning a number from the show, participants will learn about the audition process and get tips on how to do their best.

The purpose of this program is to invite young people to discover musical theater and to get a hands-on, performing arts experience at the same time.

Best of all, this program is 100% free.

To qualify, you must meet the three program requirements:

• The student is between 8 and 16 years old.
• They have never performed on stage in a musical theater production.
• They attend both the performance on Saturday at 2:00 pm and the workshop on Sunday at 10:00 am.
