MUSICAL THEATRE JAZZ
Jazz 1
Instructor: Laxmi Das, 7+ years old
Introduces the fundamentals of jazz dance technique for students with little or no prior experience. Emphasizes proper body alignment, posture, flexibility, strength, coordination, rhythm, and musicality. Students learn foundational jazz vocabulary, basic turns, jumps, and across-the-floor progressions while developing performance confidence through simple movement combinations. Jazz 1 is the foundation of musical theater.

Jazz 2
Instructor: Laxmi Das, 8+ years old
Builds upon the skills developed in Jazz I. Focuses on improving technical accuracy, strength, flexibility, coordination, and performance quality. Students learn more complex turns, leaps, and stylistic variations while increasing speed, precision, and expressive movement through a combination of warm-up exercises, across-the-floor progressions, choreography and combinations.
Prerequisite: Jazz Dance I or instructor approval.
Jazz 3
Instructor: Laxmi Das, 11+ years old
Designed for students with strong technical proficiency in jazz dance. Emphasizes advanced technique, artistry, performance dynamics, stylistic versatility, and complex choreography. Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of advanced turns, leaps, floor work, musical interpretation, and professional performance skills while refining individual artistry and ensemble collaboration.
Prerequisite: Jazz 2 or instructor approval.
Jazz 4
Instructor: Dana Tescher, 13+ year olds
Designed for advanced dancers who have demonstrated a high level of technical proficiency and performance ability. Focuses on refining advanced jazz technique through challenging choreography, complex rhythmic structures, stylistic versatility, and professional performance practices. Students are expected to execute movement with precision, artistry, musicality, and expressive intent while developing performance endurance, adaptability, and ensemble collaboration.
Prerequisite: Jazz Dance III or instructor approval.
BALLET FOR THE MUSICAL THEATER PERFORMER
Ballet 1 for Musical Theater
Instructor: Susan Daugherty, 8+ years old
Introduces the fundamentals of ballet technique as a foundation for musical theater performance. Emphasizes proper alignment, posture, turnout, balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, and musicality. Students learn basic ballet vocabulary, barre and center exercises, and simple across-the-floor combinations while developing body awareness, expressive movement, and performance confidence.

Ballet 2/3 for Musical Theater
Instructor: Susan Daugherty, 12+ years old
Builds upon the foundational skills introduced in Ballet I. Focuses on improving technical accuracy, strength, flexibility, coordination, and artistic expression through more complex barre, center, and traveling combinations. Students refine ballet vocabulary, develop greater control and balance, and strengthen the movement quality and performance skills essential for musical theater choreography.

DANCE TECHNIQUE
Instructor: Laxmi Das, 8+ year olds
Designed for students with established technical proficiency seeking to refine movement quality and performance skills. Emphasizes advanced coordination, dynamic movement, artistry, stylistic adaptability, and technical precision through complex combinations and choreography. Class incorporates dance conditioning to enhance core strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, cardiovascular endurance, and overall physical readiness for dance training and performance. Students are expected to demonstrate confidence, consistency, and the ability to quickly learn and perform movement in preparation for auditions and productions.
DANCE TECHNIQUE ADVANCED
Instructor: Laxmi Das, 10+ year olds
Designed for experienced dancers who demonstrate a strong technical foundation, maturity, and readiness for accelerated training. This advanced-level class challenges students through complex combinations, intricate choreography, advanced coordination, musicality, stylistic versatility, and precise execution. Emphasis is placed on refining alignment, control, flexibility, strength, balance, stamina, and overall movement quality. Students will be expected to retain choreography quickly, apply corrections independently, and perform with confidence, consistency, artistry, and attention to detail.
Prerequisite: Dance Technique or instructor approval.
TAP DANCE
Tap 1
Instructor: Katherine Craig, 7+ year olds
Introduces the fundamentals of tap dance technique and rhythm for students with little or no prior experience. Emphasizes proper body alignment, weight transfer, coordination, timing, and musicality. Students learn foundational tap vocabulary, basic rhythmic patterns, and simple combinations while developing sound clarity, performance confidence, and an understanding of tap as both movement and percussion.
Prerequisite: None.
Tap 2
Instructor: Katherine Craig, 8+ year olds
Builds upon the skills introduced in Tap Dance I. Focuses on improving technical precision, rhythmic complexity, coordination, speed, and musical interpretation. Students expand their tap vocabulary through more challenging combinations, across-the-floor progressions. Students will be introduced to time steps as well as basic tap turns, drawbacks and pullbacks.
Prerequisite: Tap I or instructor approval.
Tap 3
Instructor: Katherine Craig, 11+ year olds
Designed for students with a strong foundation in tap technique. Moving beyond the fundamentals, students will refine clarity of sound, musical expression, and technical execution through increasingly complex choreography and ensemble work . Additional time step variations will be added plus wings, sequencing, and more complex combinations.
Prerequisite: Tap 2 or instructor approval.
Tap 4
Instructor: Katherine Craig, 12+ year olds
Provides advanced study in tap dance with an emphasis on artistry, musical sophistication, and professional performance skills. Students are expected to execute complex rhythmic structures, advanced choreography. This class builds on the skills learned in Tap 3, focusing on more aggressive combinations and techniques as well as improvisational tap.
Prerequisite: Tap 3 or instructor approval.
Tap 5
Instructor: Katherine Craig, 13+ year olds
Provides advanced study in tap dance with an emphasis on artistry, musical sophistication, and professional performance skills. Students are expected to execute complex rhythmic structures, advanced choreography. This class builds on the skills learned in Tap 4, focusing on more aggressive combinations and techniques as well as improvisational tap.
