A lot has changed for the company since EDMT leased 2500 sq ft of commercial warehouse space in 2003. In addition to offering our students the opportunity to perform in full-length musicals, we provide an array of year-round classes, workshops, and leadership training and can service up to 300 young people a week.
EDMT’s new building has seven studios that will allow us to expand our selection of classes beyond dance classes, acting classes, and vocal lessons. With the addition of our own theatre, we can begin offering instruction in all aspects of theatre, not just performing. Our students will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge with theatre tech and design classes. For the first time, everything “EDMT”, including the sets and costumes made for our productions and our rehearsals and classes, will be under one roof.
This new home for EDMT will be completely transformed to give us the ability and flexibility to create more art with our performers and community. Over the next three years, we plan to raise funds for this project that will greatly benefit our performers, their families, our staff, and audiences and bring us to EDMT 2.0.
