Our tap companies are audition-only, season-long rehearsals. Company members learn expanded choreography and have the opportunity to perform in the community at special events.

These groups are a wonderful blend of performing excitement and fun for every member.

FAQ’s

What are the requirements to audition for EDMT’s Tap Company?: ages 10 – 20 (or with EDMT Tap Company Director approval), and must have at least one year of EDMT Performing Arts Institute (PAI) tap class or from an equivalent institution.

What do I need to prepare?: Absolutely nothing. An audition piece will be taught on the spot.

What do I need to bring?: Tap shoes, a fun energetic sparkly attitude, and at least one year of tap experience.

What does it cost to audition and be a part of EDMT’s Tap Company?: It costs absolutely nothing to audition.

Tap Company costs $1980 for the 2026-2027 season, broken up into four installments of $495 each. The first installment is due on August 2, 2026.

• Tap Company fees include EDMT TapCo tuition, costume basics, and one mandatory EDMT Performing Arts Institute (PAI) Tap class, as well as rehearsals every Tuesday, additional rehearsals as needed, three-to-four shows per year, and community performances throughout the year as scheduled on the EDMT Tap Company Calendar.

* Not all dates for community events have been secured yet but will be advised with ample notification via email and placed on the TapCo calendar. Overnight performance trips that may be offered will be optional to performers and families.

What is the commitment for EDMT’s Tap Company?: August 4, 2026 through May 15, 2027. To be a member of EDMT’s Tap Company, members need to put Tap Company as a priority over all other activities. The TapCo Director will determine the appropriate level of each member. All Tap Company members must attend the following performances; Melancholy Manor on October 29, 2026; Winter Showcase on December 19, 2026; and Year-End Showcase on May 15, 2027.
