Our tap companies are audition-only, season-long rehearsals. Company members learn expanded choreography and have the opportunity to perform in the community at special events.

These groups are a wonderful blend of performing excitement and fun for every member.

FAQ’s

What are the requirements to audition for EDMT’s Tap Company?: ages 10 – 20 (or with EDMT Tap Company Director approval), and must have at least one year of EDMT Performing Arts Institute (PAI) tap class or from an equivalent institution.

What do I need to prepare?: Absolutely nothing. An audition piece will be taught on the spot.

What do I need to bring?: Tap shoes, a fun energetic sparkly attitude, and at least one year of tap experience.

What does it cost to audition and be a part of EDMT’s Tap Company?: It costs absolutely nothing to audition. Tap Company costs $1500 for the 2026-2027 season, broken up into four installments of $375 each. The first installment is due on August 1, 2026.

What is the commitment for EDMT’s Tap Company?: August 2026 through May 2027 one rehearsal night per week on Tuesdays from 6:45-8:30pm, and community performances as available/scheduled. Upon occasion, the time of rehearsals will be adjusted due to calendar conflicts. Each performer will also be required to take a Tap Technique class with EDMT’s Performing Arts Center (PAI) at the standard class rate of $22 per class. The level will be determined by the TapCo Director after the company is announced.
